Meet the team

Headquartered in Auckland, we call the Gribblehirst Community Hub our home. We also run games in Te Atatū, Dunedin, and online.

Our games typically run during school term time, and it’s best if you sign up in advance! We have tables available at our existing locations, and we are always looking for interested schools and community centres.

Although we do advertise single session pricing, we know that adventurers get the most benefit from consistent attendance. Think of our games like an ongoing novel – you wouldn’t want to miss a chapter!

Watching Lara work with our Dungeons and Dragon groups this year has been an inspirational delight. There is so much depth and complexity involved with students working together strategically to achieve common goals. The most surprising and powerful impact was all of the anecdotal life connections and philosophies that sparked incredible discussions that Lara guided with so much understanding and insight developing awareness and strategies that students could apply to their everyday lives.

I loved…

The stories we told together; of traveling to the small town of Oakhurst and and descending into the (Not Quite) abandoned citadel near by, hoping to rescues another band of adventures lost to the dungeon, only to find that the evil that flourished in the depths had already claimed them, and in trying to defeat it, inadvertently dooming them.

The social aspect was most enjoyed. I struggle to relate to people, and I am often found somewhat lacking in personality. A shared goal between acquaintances, be it the plot of the story at hand, or simply playing the game, can help to cover for my social short comings.

I believe Dungeons and Dragons has helped me with my communication and listening skills. as well as providing me with an opportunity for social interactions that I might otherwise struggle to navigate.
